We’re sharing a little bit about The Skinny Dip Co-Founder Taylor Ivey’s personal style and what she’s loving right now! She is also the founder of women’s apparel line, Ellsworth & Ivey.

BRUNCH LOOK

Describe your personal style? I would say classic with a splash of trendy… which I realize is a complete oxymoron! I’ve never been much of a fashion risk taker (something I’m working on!), but I do try to pair my classic outfits with a more fashionable/trendy piece – maybe that’s the shoes I’m wearing or the jewelry.  But, at the end of the day, my brand’s motto is “classic, clean and simple”… which pretty much sums my style up!

Why did you choose this outfit? When I’m dressing for brunch, there is always a strong possibility that brunch could continue onto dinner and then a night out, so I want to wear something that’s appropriate for all 3! I can easily throw a jean jacket over this dress for later in the night when it gets cooler.

Tell me about the accessories. Since my dress is on the plainer side, I wanted to accent with a bold earring and some bracelets. The red and gold combo work great with the white and rattan bag!

Where is your favorite place for brunch? To be totally honest, I’m not a big brunch fan! Am I the only one out there that feels this way? That said, I do love a good grazing food situation where I can leisurely eat and chat with friends. My favorite spot for this is the brunch buffet at the Soho House, you can graze for hours.

BY THE SEA LOOK

What trends are you loving right now? Statement earrings and two-piece dresses/jumpsuits. I tend to not wear a lot of jewelry, so I love to accent with a bold pop of color on my ears. I feel like it ties the entire outfit together and you can instantly go from drab to fab! Two-piece dresses or jumpsuits, yes please! I’ve always trended towards more conservative silhouettes, but I think two-piece outfits are the perfect hybrid between conservative and sexy.

Who do you following on Instagram for inspo? @margoandme and @beingbrigid are two of my favorite bloggers. Side note! @beingbrigid has the BEST skin and makeup product reviews out there, which she posts on her stories. I basically use anything she tells me to and I love everything I try from her recommendations!

Why did you choose this look? I’m a sucker for long dresses, you will very rarely find me in a dress above my knees – I think they are uncomfortable to sit in and draw too much attention to my very pale legs. I love this look because it’s super comfortable, long and fun! It’s casual enough to go to the beach but dressy enough that I can pop into a nice spot for lunch.

Tell me about the accessories? When by the sea, you always need a great beach bag. I’m loving these straw beach totes – they look chic but are also super functional.

Whats your favorite beach? Ladies beach on Nantucket! It’s not as crowded as the others and you can stop at Bartlett Farm to pick up a sandwich (so yummy) and end with a drink at Cisco Brewery on your way back. Sounds like the perfect summer day to me!

NIGHT OUT LOOK

Why did you choose this look? I love a good romper! The pom pom accents are feminine and fun and perfect for a night of dancing on the town!

Any style tips you can share? I’m a big fan of less is more. I tend to focus on one accent item when I get dressed, so if my outfit is a bit plain I’ll accent with a bold statement earring. Or if I have a printed bold top, I’ll tone down the jewelry. I also ALWAYS tuck in my shirts, it makes me feel more put together. Personally, a big fan of high-waisted jeans (is there any other kind?), heels (low for the day, higher at night) and a white t-shirt tucked in with a bold earring. Which is actually what I’m wearing while answering these questions.

Tell me about the accessories. I like the pop of color against the blue romper, I’ve also been loving these layered bracelets from Erica Klieman Designs. There are so many colors to choose from, they are easy to slip on and off and a great price point!

What are you favorite dinner spots? That’s a tough one – too many choices! I spend most of the summer on Nantucket so I’ll concentrate on there. On the more formal and higher end side, I love Galley Beach and Straight Wharf. Their food is incredible and their atmosphere unbeatable.  For a more casual dinner, hands down Black Eyed Susan’s is my go-to! Most people only know them for their breakfast, but their dinner is unbelievable. They are also BYOB, which I’m a huge fan of.

PICKS FOR THE BOYS

Orlebar Brown has some of my favorite swim trunks for men, this particular style is super comfortable and resembles shorts. Pair them with a classic button down and you have an outfit that can easily go from beach to brunch!

I’m a big fan of a nice white button down on a man. I like them worn casually, with the sleeves rolled up and chest open a bit. This linen button down is amazing, it’s super high quality and breathable. I’ve paired it with my favorite Mizzen+Main shorts (that are also breathable, washable and have stretch) and you have a killer brunch outfit. Throw our ACK hat on to hide any disheveled hair and protect from the sun!

I’m a sucker for men in white pants! This light blue sweater against the white is a classic contrast and the perfect outfit for a cool Nantucket summer night!
